Make room for the kick or the vocal
A 30-band dynamic EQ that listens to your kick or vocal on the sidechain and turns down only the frequencies that clash, only while they clash. Drag the threshold line on the display, set the range and how narrow the cuts are.

Put it on the sound that should make room (bass, pads, music bus) and pick the kick or the vocal on the Sidechain menus. Turn up Depth: every band where the sidechain is louder than the threshold line is turned down for as long as it plays. Drag the orange edges to set the range, drag the threshold line up or down, and use Density to make the cuts wider or narrower.
